Kerragan rubbed his face with his hand. "I should take you to the Forest of Shadow Memories outside of Ratayu, he said. "It's beyond the desert to the east. There, you'll be able to visualize the previous dimension in a way that you wouldn't before here."

The journey to the east began the next day after Caria gathered some essentials to make the short journey east. After reaching the top of a sandy peak, the desert sand below the couple's feet began to transition to grass and shrubbery. As they continued to move, Caria noticed she was becoming sleepy.

"You're tired, aren't you?" said Kerragan.

Caria nodded.

"The Forest of Shadow Memories puts anyone who is sensitive to the psychic fields to sleep. The better of a psychic you are, the more drowsy you become - and as you know, I'm not a psychic, but your grandmother is."

Caria nodded a second time, suddenly slumping over and falling asleep.
