ZEFFON - Manipura 16 (Tragically, Pêvse Ants Reduce As, And Then Ashes...)

Just thought I'd record a few notes for this one, as opposed to the way I usually publish without any additional context for the listener. Like a lot of my releases lately, the production started slow and culminated in a massively productive Sunday evening on the 13th of March (early morning hours of Pi Day for most people on planet Earth), where I recorded and finalized about half the tracks. I wanted to have a bit of a combination folk/noise album this time around, and I think I did that in a way I found satisfactory.

Anyhow, this album is dedicated (rare for me to dedicate something, I know!) to the three bassists that were a key influence on how I play fretless bass. Thanks for introducing me to this lovely instrument.

These are the lyrics for the two songs that have words on Manipura 16. Bear in mind the lyrics for "A Company of Fools" aren't that accurate, since the song was recorded in one take, and I can't even hear myself over the Electribe ambience. But it's close enough for you guys to get the idea.

The Manipura series will have 19 releases total. The first 13 were released three-ish years ago in the months of August and September of 2019. The remaining 6 will be larger, extended releases, as this first album in the series since the end of the hiatus demonstrates.
