The sun went down, casting shadows until they were farther than the eye could see. Anticipating a horrible roar in the distance, Roanin continued quickly, trying to make progress. Rowland mentioned that the cause of the death of Roanin's parents may be contained within the Disynxiym, or at least some clue. According to Dränsilane's writings, Roanin was born to a man named Rowland and a woman named Ophela, though Roanin could not remember those names at all.

Caria woke up for the second time. She, knowing full well that there was something around the Ognian ruins trying to manipulate her, sped out of the area as quickly as she could. She had heard of the legends of what happened when one's personality split, and she wanted no part in it.
