xi. Cave of Origin

In any case, I tracked them down to what appeared to be a small cave north of an oasis. This cave seemed to be frequented by the creatures, so I continued to delve deeper into its depths. There was something at the end, as I could hear movement, but I could not see without light. It made insect-crawling noises, whatever it was, and occasionally, the sound of tiny feet could be heard on walls. I spotted a light up ahead and followed it, and soon I could hear whistling, which I quickly recognized as that of the Mandras in Unkardia. The Mandras are small forest-dwelling people who exist in the Silver Crystal Forest. Thus, it puzzled me a great deal to hear the sound of their call in this cave. As I approached the end of the cave, with the increasing amount of light, I saw a few runes scribbled on the walls of the cave.
