Stone Man

by Zeffon

/
1.
i. Before Them (Wisdom Lost) On an isle far out in the ocean, a man crawled from a piece of driftwood that he had been hanging onto for the longest time. He couldn't remember anything, other than he was supposed to find "them". Although he knew nothing about "them", he was continuously skeptical regarding all this "them" and "they" business. That was one of the things he remembered anyway: delirious minds were the euphoria of others.
2.
ii. Parallels in Azure or Cyan He found a forest that led him away from the beach and began to think of things to construct that would spare him the dangers that may descend upon him come the nightfall. He looked about him and found a few items in the brush. There was a strange cloth that glowed ominously as well as what appeared to be a rusty sword. There appeared to be a name engraved on the blade, but it was difficult to make out. All that was known was that it started with an "J". The sun beat down on the shipwrecked survivor, who was becoming hot and beginning to hallucinate. It wasn't necessarily that he had been exploring forever, but something within him desired that he take a quick rest.
3.
Ghost White 15:17
iii. Ghost White The next day, the man made a fort. It wasn't much to look at, but he knew that it was good enough for him to survive in, and thus it was all that he needed. The sun continued to beat down on the dreary lone man and he began to get the distinct impression that he was being watched. His suspicions were sort of confirmed when a much smaller man washed up on the same shore that he had been lying on the day before. The tricky bit was that the smaller man looked exactly the same as the larger one. In fact, the larger man could have sworn that he was staring at a reflection, if it hadn't been that he was lying on the beach. Suddenly, the clouds began to gather and rain began to pour. The larger man decided that he would give the body a proper burial. Within minutes, the rain had soaked the island and ruin the fort that the man had built so carefully to withstand the sun. Shivering, he began to make his way to the cover of the forest that lay on the rather small island. Soon, all would be well.
4.
iv. The Administrative Portal After dragging the corpse to his shelter, the larger man couldn't brush away the feeling that he was still being observed in some way. He decided that it didn't matter and began to dig into the soft mushy soil below him. The sound of the rain beginning to subside gave him some sense of relief, and he began to mutter to himself. How did he get here? Who were "they"? Why was he trying so hard to search for them? He imagined that he was no longer this victim, but a distant observer, making note of his prey from a hill in a coniferous forest full of dried-up riverbeds and red cedar trees. The vision excited him a little bit, since the victim didn't see him coming until he drew his bow and shot him in the back. The victim cried out, but was quickly and hastily subdued by the power of the arrow, and soon, the victim was dead. As the large man approached his kill, he noted the victim was like the man he was trying so desperately to bury. This man looked less like him given that his neck was horribly scarred, like he had survived an assassination attempt like this before, but was then distraught when he realized he wouldn't be getting out of it this time. The large man then noticed that he was carrying a small slip of paper. It looked like it was ripped out of a tome of some sort, perhaps something that was once incredibly obscure and valuable. The note read something to the effect of "parallels", which didn't strike the large man in any particular way, other than that it was indeed just a random slip of paper. Then he remembered something. His name was Cyane.
5.
Blind 03:10
v. Blind He had been dreaming. The corpse was gone. In its place was a hand, one made of stone.
6.
vi. Doctor, Doctor, Minister Then Cyane woke up. He realized that he had had the sixth dream. He went to report that to his superiors. What the dream he just witnessed meant was something that was a mystery to him, but he realized its divine nature.
7.
87F 01:20
vii. 87F The temperature of the administrative portal was fairly hot, as the dream farm was located in a strange desert, surrounded by flowing rivers of quicksand.
8.
viii. Map of the Entire World The administrators told Cyane to go back to sleep. With any luck, he might summon the Dream VII or the seventh dream. The wars outside of the town had ceased to exist, so many of the people of the land took the opportunity to go outside of the town walls.
9.
ix. Bomber Robbery / In La Mention It is said that Yeueooohh is the name of a dragoon that wished to conquer the lands beyond the town. As his name suggests, he was a follower of the Third Eye. He made his way to the only mountain peak on the horizon and jumped to the top with ease. It was there he saw that there was very little beyond flat sandy desert to explore. Or perhaps there wasn't. Maybe it was all a mirage. In the distance, the giant sand worms leapt and moved throughout the dunes.
10.
x. A Mysterious Distorted Guest The chaos invoked by the mysterious guest had changed Zeffon completely. We knew we were stage two of the dimension. The Chaoslands had been expanded to a vast, vast desert, with the capital of the world placed in the middle. Oooograh was the name of the town originally, but it finally became known as Ratayu, as a sort of ward against what lie beyond the sands.
11.
Valentine 24:06
xi. Valentine The strange things that began to take place were the fault of the three gods, but then a fourth one began to make itself known in the middle of the desert. This one was the former Trahma of the Groooalaahh clan (the leader). The Trahma began to experiment, coming up with a way to tap into the Lunar Plane from Ratayu and thus become a god.
12.
xii. #0_800003051757813 The Battle of Yteia began to take place as this Trahma began to rise from the ground and take on the two warring gods, as well as the Third Eye. Not all was right with the world, and soon it became obvious that something needed to be done.
13.
Greed 31:37
xiii. Greed A young girl by the name of Caria, the only daughter of a woman named Madeline Crowa appeared in the town one day, after a portal opened and just as quickly closed, depositing Caria in the town square. She was nursed back to health and when she realized that there were still problems occurring between Eresymcaion and Muagarah (albeit with new gods in the mix), she became contemplative, trying to figure out how to stop the four powers from warring.
14.
Reverse 05:51
xiv. Reverse The essence of Dream VIII, or the eighth dream began to wander around the town of Ratayu, looking for a vessel to spread its message. It found Caria.
15.
xv. Terraformed Fortress of Winds The first dream (Dream I) occurred when the people of Ocsania began to have nightmares and moved to Viandor across the sea. Ever since, the people of Zeffon in various stages and dimensions have made it their duty to seek out additional dreams. Dream VIII, or the eighth dream began to become a very apparent vision for Caria, and she saw a strange swampy land filled with ancient statues and the like, as well as a fortress that could house the likes of the gods.
16.
xvi. A Cursed Avenger of Sorts It became clear of the Battle of Gagrhe that there was a fifth god coming into play. Eresymcaion knew that its battle had been lost, and thus retreated into the ancient ruins beyond the desert, perhaps to never be seen again.
17.
Scales 01:11
xvii. Scales Vald was the name of the fifth god, who came into existence from across the sea. He brought his followers with him and decimated the old Temple of Muagarah, causing Muagarah to become wrathful. It became clear that there was no hope for the Vald as Muagarah descended upon him.
18.
xviii. A Path to the Vacant Dream The strange battle of Yuuuggureaooooh occurs during this time. At this point, the administration has gone crazy searching for the eighth dream, as they haven't realized that it has been Caria who has had it.
19.
xix. The Stranger With A Lamp The stranger who originally moved Zeffon to its second phase appears in the middle of the town square in Ratayu, causing a very loud ruckus that causes many civilians to dash to the square to see what's going on.
20.
xx. 11: Unwelcome Dwellers, Water Book The stranger leaves behind a very specific clue addressed to Caria: do not drink the water in the pyramid, regardless of what you do. It is poison.
