Suddenly, the symmetry was broken. How on earth was that done? In any case, a sign was made and seen when a raven was seen with a large branch in its beak, a cashew glued to the tip that glistened in the breaking daylight.
about
I heard about this once.
A man who worked for another man named Charlie was trying to assassinate a certain man who was connected to the forest south of Ramalest. The certain man was sensitive to sunlight.
I was concerned that the certain man was going to be killed, so I found his would-be assassin and killed him first. He never knew what hit him.
I watched with some apathy as the workers tore down the moldy apartment where the certain man had once lived. It was clearly a mess.
In any case, I've felt the need to write down some of the strange happenings that I've been experiencing. There is indeed some amount of curious horror that has infected the populace of Ramalest as of late, and I am no exception. Following the discovery of the would-be assassin, we (as in our household of three) began to hear howling to the north. My husband had died two years ago for defying the order that is Ramalest, and I don't blame the government at all. He was a coward and bloodthirsty fool who wished to decimate the greatest empire of all time. I was left with my daughter and son, the latter of whom had spent quiet evenings outside of town in the woods. I told him not to do that, but he wouldn't listen.
Later, he brought in a strange book. This book was filled with symbols that I instantly recognized as Oasis script. Oasis is a small island nation that exists (or did exist) north of Ghel. It was invaded by Kin's Forces later during the year of my visit there, so I was lucky to escape with my life; those soldiers wouldn't have recognized me at all. In any case, the North has always been a little strange in the sense that it seems to be a gateway to a different world. Kin, one of my friends since my youth and Supreme Leader of Ghel had established the theory of "True North". In the old days, Ghel was cursed to be the keeper of the Sun and the Moon; both celestial bodies were "summoned" routinely through the construction of Suntowers and Moontowers. They were also doomed to become Arc-Demai at the age of 100 years (or so I've heard, I may be wrong).
Anyway, my son said that a stranger had given him the tome he was holding and he had been instructed to give it to me. As I read it, I began to realize who the author was, despite his name not appearing anywhere in the substantial volume. It was Kin.
Kin had never spoken any language besides the language spoken by the Arc-Demai, so naturally, when I saw his hand in the Oasis script, I was intrigued. After flipping through the pages, a letter tumbled to the ground. As I read it, I began to understand what was going on. Apparently, he had been captured by some people loyal to Oasis. Despite the initial success of the invasion and following occupation, the army was suddenly overwhelmed by cultists practicing some of the darkest magic, magic that even the spell-wielding descendants of the Arc-Demai had not seen for ages or had never seen at all. He was contracted to help them with a comprehensive tome that the cultists had been throwing together, and his knowledge of spells specific to the Arc-Demai was critical to its completion. In return, the cultists swore not to harm and destroy his people. Oasis was apparently their connection between their world and ours.
The first piece sounded like what I imagine the red eye storm of Jupiter sounds like with winds blowing hundreds of miles per hour that could shred through flesh like wet tissue. I heard a intriguing bass synthesizer in the background. The second track was more harsh noise with an angelic choir in the background and the final piece was a cacophony of machines. I really don’t like Harsh Noise Wall but I can’t deny that it is art because it can evoke an unsettling feeling. This was not to my taste Dionysus Virus
Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I love the beautiful sounds of this album but I don’t have a favorite song. I have a favorite title, it’s called “I Am An Idol, But You Can Call Me The Pope”.. p.s- The Pope Smokes Dope! Dionysus Virus
C. Diab describes “Exit Rumination” as “a sonic exorcism,” and its dark, swelling songs are equal parts catharsis and tension. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2018
