i. Gloomy Night Streets Catoblepas is an album representing the uneasiness of the Kingdom of Lavu and the eventual public assassination of a murderer. Sharhodeon is undergoing political turmoil, but Lavu and their ally, the Seraph Territories rest easy. However, within Lavu's poorer southern district, in the town of Blueheart, an unknown assassin is wandering around, keeping the public on their toes. The secret police have nothing on him except a photo that was anonymously submitted to their headquarters via the mail. It features a somewhat well-dressed man with his back turned, a trumpet in his left hand, and a knife in his right... The first murder attributed to this man was committed when a man by the name of Joren Luck was attending an appointment with a doctor by the name of Dr. Uy. When Joren didn't return to his home, the police entered the office, only to find Joren lying on the floor. His wrists were slit and Dr. Uy was nowhere to be seen. A state-sponsored funeral fit for a hero is held the next day in order to raise awareness regarding this man. Later, the police receive the infamous picture. A private detective with the code name Roy is assigned to the case and does some research at the capitol building in Lavu. Since no one has ever seen this man, despite the ongoing investigation, Roy assumes that the mysterious assassin may be taking advantage of a recent discovery - the possibility of another dimension. If the assassin can slip in between the dimensional fabric of space, it would allow the perpetrator to escape the scene undetected. While looking carefully through the texts, a man brings Roy his lunch - a simple beef sandwich. Biting into it, Roy makes a painful discovery in the form of a poisoned sewing needle in his food and is quickly rendered unconscious. After Roy is hospitalized, investigators find a note in the sandwich that reads, "Du Omerideöth". "Du Omerideöth was the old name for Castle Adelais, ruins that the government began excavating despite public disapproval. The note leads investigators to believe that the attack is politically motivated. While desperately scouring around for clues, new information arrives - The assassin has been identified and will be playing at a club in Blueheart. His name is Samuel Cathrop. The gloom of the Blueheart streets has always held some sort of foreboding atmosphere. After O23 was destroyed by Creator using the power of the Bell of Noor and the Magot Tower, Dr. Uy and Creator had a falling out, and Creator destroyed his empire on Exeräise due to the residual effects of using the cursed bell. Creator then retreated back to the Kingdom of Lavu, where he took on a new name: Rowland Meylith. Being the deity he was, he quickly gained seat No. 1 in the Kingdom’s luxurious government. However, all was not well.

ii. Breathe Deeply Although no one knew the identity of the soon-to-be murderer of Blueheart, Rowland knew very well of the intentions of his former associate. He didn’t warn anyone, though. It was never from malice or depression, just simple neglect that caused the murders to occur. A letter, meant for Governor No. 1 himself was submitted via the mail, but it never reached Rowland. The letter, although brief, described a particular gas attack that was to be released by means of three chlorine canisters in Blueheart. The secret police quickly foiled the insidious plot by removing the gas cans from the alleyway in which they were placed. The only other thing included was a old photograph of a man with his back turned. He held a knife in one hand, and a trumpet in the other. Signed on the reverse side was the phrase “Breathe Deeply”. However, only the top executives of the secret police had the picture and letter package. The street patrols knew nothing of it.

Rowland wishes to make Kerragan one of the rulers of the Kingdom of Lavu. Rowland, knowing Kerragan’s true identity as Emeroch Isga, decides to ally him to the Kingdom in order to make use of his power. Of course, before this occurred, I talked with Emeroch, telling him about the more refined Instinct technology that was available there, technology that would allow the both of us to reach 100% Instinct and survive.
